Meet Will Sparks

BACKGROUND & COMMITMENTS
I am a dedicated candidate running for the position of VP Admin of the AMS. As a 3rd-year Natural Resource Conservation student with a focus on Environmental Policy, I am committed to keeping the AMS climate-accountable, specifically forming measurable and achievable sustainability goals, enhancing club infrastructure, and ensuring a lightning-fast club booking process. Leveraging my management experience and UBC administration connections as President of Drop the Puck for Mental Health, I am committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for each and every student at UBC.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE & LEADERSHIP
I have a proven track record of leadership and accomplishment. As President of Drop the Puck for Mental Health, one of UBC’s largest student-run charities, I have helped raise over $215,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association, delivering invaluable wellbeing services to millions across British Columbia. My background studying environmental policy gives me unique leverage to tackle the climate and sustainability challenges that the UBC student body faces.

MOTIVATIONS
As a student at one of the best universities in the world, I feel incredibly lucky to have access to all of the opportunities UBC provides. As such, I have a responsibility to do the best I can to give back to the community that has given me so much, and ensure that each student that comes through UBC can reach their maximum potential. This includes fighting for clubs, improving the Nest, and ensuring the AMS reflects the sustainability goals important to the student body.
